WELCOME TO REGION 42010-04-14 Be sure to join us in St. Louis, Missouri for the National NDTA Conference; for details, click on the Gateway Arch on the lower left of the web page.
Welcome to the Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming region of the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association. As a member you are part of a National group of Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapists devoted to promoting the theories and principles of the NDT approach.
As your regional contact, I will serve as a resource and link to NDTA. I welcome your questions, ideas and opinions, and hope to meet you at an upcoming NDT conference. Check out the National NDTA Conference in St. Louis, Missouri in May. Join us to learn and socialize!
Be sure to login at the NDTA website at www.ndta.org. There are a variety of links available to you including Publications, Research, Education, and the NDTA Newsletter “Network”. In addition, a new question and answer section is available only to members for troubleshooting and discussing treatment ideas with NDTA instructors.
REGIONAL UPDATES2010-04-14 Welcome to new NDTA members in our Region:
Patricia McNeil, a PT from Kingman, AZ
Stacie Lewis, an OT from Denver, CO
Jenny Harrison, a PT from Louisville, CO
Mercedes Veras, a SLP from Boulder, CO
Erin Joselle King-Robinson, an OT from Boulder, CO
Many of you have taken the basic eight-week pediatric or three-week adult hemiplegia course, and have received certificates of course completion. NDTA believes we must recognize the level of competence required for the successful completion of these courses through a formal certification process. Please click on the certification button on the NDTA home page for more information on becoming a certified NDTA therapist. You can even have business cards printed to identify your accomplishment!
NDTA is harnessing the power of the Internet to connect more closely to our membership. Traditionally, our annual membership meetings have occurred at the NDTA National Conferences, where only a small percentage of membership was involved. This year, the NDTA will host the annual membership meeting in an online format, accessible to the entire membership through a web link on the NDTA home page.
In spite of this challenging economic time, NDTA has lowered the annual dues for the Parents/Family Member/Caregiver category to $25. Please spread the word! Membership benefits include: use of the lending library, a member directory, and much more. Click on the Join NDTA link on the home page of www.ndta.org to get started. STUDY GROUPS2010-04-14 Study groups are an excellent way to meet other professionals in your area, and to further your study, treatment, and practice of NDT principles and theory. If you are participating in a study group, or are aware of an NDT study group in your area, please share your experiences with others who might wish to participate or to start a group of their own. Contact me for support in starting your own group or in furthering an existing study group.
