STUDY GROUPS0000-00-00 A “study group” is defined as a collection of individuals, in our case OT, PT and Speech therapists, who gather together to improve their understanding of a subject, in our case NDT theory, principles and practice, by participating in a focused discussion or hands-on facilitation sessions.
Benefits of a study group include:
• Active learning instead of passive learning
• Sharing of ideas that may not have been considered
• By either, speaking to others and/or listening to others, these skills can improve on recall ability
• Explaining information to other members can reinforce your mastery of concepts
• Groups provide a venue for sharing information and knowledge
• Groups provide a venue for practicing facilitation techniques, building self-confidence and learning valuable handling skills and techniques
• A source of encouragement from other members can increase your motivation of study
Please read through the attached guidelines and email me about getting a group started. If you are participating in or aware of an NDT study group in your area, please share the contact information for the group. LOCAL CONTACTS0000-00-00 Get connected with other NDTA members in your area!

NDTA is searching for members to enroll as local contacts. Members have an opportunity to participate in their region by acting as a contact person. They may represent their state or the North/South of their state or a large city with which they live. That member will work closely with their regional chairs, sharing information back and forth to increase resources and networking among members within their area.
A local contact member will be instrumental in providing regional news or activities that are happening within their area. They may help disseminate information regarding a course or NDTA event. They would be the contact person for study groups, they may assist with conferences when in that area, they would work with the region chairs to market/advertise a course, educate a family interested in NDT treatment or match a family needing an NDT therapist. The responsibilities are varied and each member can decide their role as a local contact.
NDTA Region Chairs feel that this is a vital position to enhance outreach to our members. With your help and involvement, we will continue to share, grow and promote NDTA treatment.
Sign up as a local contact by emailing me at abarraza@pathwayscenter.org. UPCOMING COURSES2009-01-19 Please click the "Education" tab in the left hand column for a complete list of NDTA Approved courses.
