11:00-12:30: Examination of Typical Gait: A Guided Movement Experience with Lab

1:30- 2:00: Standardized Measures for Upright Function

2:00 -3:00: Developmental Biomechanics Head to Toes for Gait: Lecture and Lab

3:00-3:15: Break

3:15- 5:00: Patient Demonstration and Discussion and Wrap Up

10:45- 12:15: Atypical Gait: The NDT Problem-Solving Process

DESCRIPTION

This course will focus on clinical management strategies for the refinement of effective upright functional mobility from an NDT Clinical Practice Model. Topics will include: biomechanical and postural control demands of upright function, development and refinement of functional gait, analysis of gait dysfunction, development of functional outcomes and intervention strategies to enhance upright function. Intervention will be presented from the theoretical and clinical perspectives exploring principles of motor learning and motor control. Laboratory experiences will emphasize clinical problems solving and intervention skills using NDT based intervention strategies.
