This 8-day course provides participants with the critical foundations of NDT. The curriculum includes an introduction to contemporary NDT and the NDT Practice Model and current research supporting the theoretical underpinnings for NDT interventions for Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants. Participants will be introduced to movement and task analysis as well as the ICF model. These important frameworks aid in clinical decision-making and treatment planning within the established plan of care. The curriculum will be covered through lectures, client demonstrations, and labs. Labs will introduce participants to basic handling concepts. Labs will emphasize the facilitation of postural control, basic transitional movements such as sit-to-stand, upper and lower extremity function, neurorecovery, and integration within task-specific ADLs/IADLs and gait activities.  Assessment and treatment demonstrations, by instructors, will illustrate the application of the NDT Practice Model.   Participants will treat patients with a partner for 6 of the 8 days to integrate course information with guidance from the instructors.
