Our goal is to provide our NDTA community with a platform that will bring fellow colleagues together to network and share NDT ideas and strategies for assessment, treatment, and problem-solving. We are planning events on specific topics and themes for both the pediatric and adult populations, to discuss topic successes, and concerns, and entertain any questions you have.

This is a member-driven event, not a lecture. Members should bring their questions and share topic strategies, ideas, and network.

Transfers—Thinking About Tips and Treatment using NDTA Core Principles

Supported By: Monica Diamond PT, MS, NCS, C/NDT, Judith C Bierman PT DPT, C/NDT, and Kacy M. Hertz PT, C/NDT

Join us for an evening focusing on breaking transfers into task components, analyzing movement, and identifying NDTA handling and facilitation strategies for each phase of the transfer in both pediatric and adult clients. Let’s help each other understand not just how to transfer a patient but explore why a patient struggles with a particular component and how to adapt handling interventions. In addition, take time to think about secondary impairments that can be anticipated to develop across the lifespan and their influence on future transfers. Also think of the changes in demands on the individual with the constantly changing contextual factors across the lifespan to develop a plan for transfer skills that will form a foundation for optimal participation as the individual ages.

This special event is open to NDTA Members and Non-Members.
