NDTA Education Overview
NDTA is an inclusive, supportive community for occupational and physical therapists, speech - language pathologists, and other clinicians who are committed to incorporating NDT principles into their clinical practice. The NDTA offers education at many levels to provide the entry level through advanced practitioner with dynamic, current learning opportunities to guide practitioners working with individuals with neuromuscular dysfunction. The NDTA supports the lifelong learner through its many educational offerings.
Types of NDTA Education
Courses can be offered in different formats and/or combinations of formats. In-person and virtual options may be available. Each course description and agenda will include the formats to be used. A single course may include multiple formats. Each course description will specify the instructors as well as the format of their instruction. Certificate and Training courses always include an in-person component.
Formats Available:
- Live In-Person - Learning that takes place face-to-face in a physical location, such as a classroom, lecture hall, or conference center. This includes real-time, on-site interaction between instructors and learners.
- Distance Learning - Interactive (Synchronous)- Learning experience that happens virtually in real-time, such as a live webinar.. Learners and instructors are engaged at the same time.
- Distance Learning - Independent (Asynchronous)- Learning experience is pre-recorded, and viewed on the learner’s own schedule, not in real-time. This can include aspects of education such as watching recorded lectures, participating in discussion boards, or submitting assignments via a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Hybrid or Blended Learning - The participant’s experience incorporates a structured combination of in-person and online learning activities, and can include both synchronous and asynchronous elements. This format integrates flexibility with face-to-face interaction.
Types of Education Available:
Certificate Courses for OT/PT/SLPs
NDTA Certificate Courses offer in-depth education in the Contemporary NDT Practice Model for adult and pediatric occupational and physical therapists, and speech/language pathologists. Successful completion of the course allows the attendee to become NDT Certified (C/NDT).
Training Courses for PT/OT/SLP Assistants
NDTA Training courses offer in-depth education in the Contemporary NDT Practice Model for PT/OT/SLP Assistants. Successful completion of the course allows the attendee to become NDT Trained ( NDT/T).
Advanced Courses
NDTA Approved Advanced Courses are designed to expand on the attendee’s evaluation and treatment skills following successful completion of a certificate course.
NDTA Conferences
NDTA Conferences are thematic learning opportunities related to the contemporary practice of NDT. Conferences may be virtual or in-person.
Seminars
NDTA Seminars offer a unique educational opportunity in a one, two or three-day format for therapists, assistants, and others to become acquainted with the Contemporary NDT Practice Model or to further enhance their NDT knowledge.
Webinars
NDTA webinars offer a variety of educational opportunities in a virtual format for therapists, assistants and others. Webinars can be as little as an hour, or progress over several sessions.
