Beginning February 1, NDTA will no longer require membership to earn and/or remain C/NDT certified. NDTA will offer certification application and recertification options for members and non-members. We hope this change allows our members and those interested in the C/NDT certification more options and flexibility.

Why did NDTA make this change?

  • One of NDTA’s strategic priorities is to grow, diversify, and expand our educational offerings. By changing the membership requirements of the C/NDT certification, NDTA positions itself to expand the impact and adoption of the C/NDT certification. This change adds greater visibility and credibility to the C/NDT certification.

What does this mean for you?

  • As a current member of NDTA you will receive preferential member pricing for your initial certification and recertification as long you maintain a current membership.
  • Already certified? This change does not impact your current certification period. When it’s time to recertify, ensure your membership is up to date to receive the preferential member pricing on recertification.
  • This change does not impact the membership requirement for NDTA Instructors, Candidates, and Pre-Candidates, and all members serving on NDTA committees and the NDTA Board of Directors.
