The Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association’s (NDTA) Award of Excellence (AOE), the highest honor NDTA bestows upon an individual, recognizes outstanding contributions by practitioners, researchers, or supporters who have devoted extraordinary time, energy, and commitment to NDTA and the contemporary practice of Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT). Nominees are not required to be members of NDTA, however additional weight will be given to nominees who are or have been active in NDTA.
Criteria for Eligibility
The nominee must have made significant and lasting contributions to the field of Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) and the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA). This includes practitioners, researchers, and supporters who have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas:
Clinical Excellence:
- Demonstrated outstanding clinical skills and expertise in applying NDT principles and techniques to improve the functional abilities and quality of life of individuals with neuromuscular dysfunction.
- Consistently achieved positive patient outcomes and demonstrated a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Research & Innovation:
- Conducted impactful research that has contributed to the understanding and advancement of NDT principles and practices.
- Published research findings in reputable journals or presented research at conferences, enhancing the knowledge base of the NDT community.
- Introduced innovative approaches, techniques, or tools that have made a significant impact on the contemporary practice of NDT or research in the field.
Education and Training:
- Played a significant role in educating and training other professionals, students, or caregivers in NDT principles and techniques.
- Developed innovative educational materials, courses, or programs that have had a positive impact on the field.
Advocacy and Support:
- Actively supports and promotes the mission and goals of the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA).
- Advocated for individuals with neuromuscular conditions and worked to raise awareness about the importance of NDT within the broader healthcare community.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities within the NDT community and collaborated with others to advance the field.
- Contributed to the growth and sustainability of NDTA through active involvement in organizational activities.
Award Process
Nomination Process:
Nominations must include the following information and can be submitted by individuals, peers, colleagues, or members of the NDTA community.
- NDTA Award of Excellence Nomination Form.
- Letter of Nomination - Include a detailed description of the nominee's accomplishments and contributions to the contemporary practice of NDT and NDTA.
- Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae or Resumé.
- Two (2) letters of support discussing how the nominee’s contributions have impacted the contemporary practice of NDT and/or NDTA.
Selection Process:
The NDTA Board of Directors will, through an impartial review process, evaluate each nominee based on the established criteria.
Award Presentation:
The NDTA Award of Excellence is presented at the NDTA Spring Annual Conference.
